Let’s start with the front entrance…

Fresh greenery is a classic and beautiful choice for both outdoor and indoor decorating. Keep it simple and stick with a limited color pallet – either gold, red or silver – to create a timeless and elegant look.

If you have a front porch then try wrapping garland around the columns, but remember to keep it simple. We especially love the fir trees in burlap sacks. Firs not only smell amazing, but they are also a holiday staple.

We love the lighted branch spheres in this picture. They add a delicate and sophisticated touch to your front entrance, especially on a blanket of snow!

If you have a more contemporary home and front entrance, try a short potted pine and don’t forget to add sparkle! It’s a funky look that is perfect for our readers with modern taste.

Back patios can always us a little decoration… but remember to keep it simple. We love these over-sized ornaments paired with greenery.

This arrangement is actually easier to achieve than it looks. Drape sheet lights over a table then arrange large ornaments in a planter. You can hang the lighted spheres from trees or a pergola.

If you have a gazebo this look is a MUST! How beautiful do these lighted spheres look all together? This look picture is probably 3 years old, but is still (and always will be) a studio favorite for the holidays!

Moving inside…

If you are looking for a mantel decoration other than garland, try topiaries and something small, simple and consistent across the mantle (like the adorable Christmas trees!). Notice the birch logs and burlap wrapping the topiaries… two other studio favorites!

A shimmery and elegant mantle can be achieved by using tall silver accessories (candle sticks or vases) along with shiny ornaments. Mix in the shiny elements with greenery and pine cones and you will be good to go!

There are so many things we like about this room. The tree and gift wrapping are gorgeous, the furniture is simple and chic, but still manages to look really comfortable and the mantle is absolutely phenomenal! When you have a mantle that is truly a statement in the room don’t add fussy garland. Stick to something simple and you will really be surprised at how sophisticated it will look.

Magnolia leaves and white ornaments make a beautiful combination, and are a perfect way to create a simple and elegant mantle decoration.

Table Settings…

We really love how this modern white dining room is transformed into a festive holiday area by the red ribbons, center piece and green and red accessories on the white shelves.

If you are going for a neutral look, then try pine cones and gold ornaments for your centerpiece. Try adding a vase or bowl of fruit that blends in with your existing color scheme too.

A white table setting can be beautiful and elegant for the holidays. We especially like the ornaments hanging from the chandelier… such a delicate touch!

For a more casual table setting, try a large bowl of magnolia leaves and ornaments. Clear balls filled with colorful ornaments are on each plate. Very creative and kid friendly!

A little something special around the house…

Ornament wreathes and a touch of greenery look so festive and elegant against a white background anywhere in your home.

A strand of ornaments and garland over a mirror will instantly add glam and sparkle to your room.

A holiday card board is a fun decoration for a house full of kids. It adds color and holiday spirit!

Create an interesting display on a hallway chest or buffet with a moss sphere with white lights paired with a rustic urn. We love how the combination looks so effortlessly chic.

Invest in tiny ornaments this holiday season and you will use them for years. We love the silver ornaments in mason jars on this mantle and how the theme is carried throughout the branches as well. This picture is also a really good example of how sophisticated a monochromatic vignette can look for the holidays.

Here is another example of how ornaments (no matter the size) are always a good investment for the holidays.

This look can easily be achieved by placing branches from your own yard into a tall vase, then decorating with ornaments. This arrangement looks beautiful against a window as it echoes the branches seen outside.
